A magnitude 5.5 earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, was recorded at around 10:27 p.m. according to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The epicenter of the quake was located in San Marcelino, Zambales, at a depth of 78 kilometers and was located at 15.08°N, 120.19°E – 012 km N 19° E.
Metro Manila and nearby cities and provinces also reported feeling the tremor.
The institute said that aftershocks are possible although there’s no expected damage.
