A magnitude 5.4 earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, was recorded at around 8:58 p.m. according to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The epicenter of the quake was located in Tingloy, Batangas, at a depth of 3 kilometers. Aftershocks were also recorded with 4.6-magnitude and 2.5-magnitude at 9:11 p.m. and 9:17 p.m, respectively.
