Philippine bet Maxine Medina emerged as one of the favorite contestants at the 65th Miss Universe Preliminary Competition held at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, on Thursday, January 26, 2017.
The 26-year-old Medina joined 85 other candidates in the preliminaries, which will determine who will emerge as the top 12 and will only be revealed during the grand coronation on Monday, January 30.
The Miss Universe 2016 preliminary event was judged by Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres, former model Cynthia Bailey, publicist Rob Goldstone, President/Executive Producer of the People’s Choice Awards Fred Nelson, social entrepreneur Francine LeFrak and Miss Universe 2007 Riyo Mori.
Hosted by Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Filipino model and actor Derek Ramsay.
