Club owner and eventologist Tim Yap apologized to those who were offended by his tweet during the grand coronation of Binibining Pilipinas 2017.
‘Some of the girls don’t look like they come from the provinces they represent,’ tweeted Yap, which immediately criticized by netizens saying it was improper.
In another tweet, Yap said many of the contestants look like Mocha Uson, one of President Rodrigo Duterte’s strong supporters.
Hours later, Yap deleted his post and apologized.
“I didn’t mean it that way. I am sorry for whoever I offended with my tweet. I think everyone is beautiful no matter where they’re from.”
Last Sunday, Rachel Louis Peters was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2017, succeeding Maxine Medina, in the Binibining Pilipinas 2017 pageant held at the Smart Araneta in Quezon City.
